Dishes from around the world

The world, takes us through an incredible diversity of cuisine and specialty dishes. Each country has it’s own cuisine, flavors and regional variations, along with regional ingredients and customs. When it comes to food it’s really difficult to answer the question of what is the the best food in the world. The concept of “best foods” can greatly vary based on personal taste, cultural preferences, and dietary choices. In this article we will briefly summarize some of the continent’s cuisine.

Asia

Starting in Asia, the food there has a vast variety of tastes, looks, and ways of cooking. China, an old country, has lots of foods ranging from very spicy dishes to gentle ones. Every part of China has its favorite dishes based on its history, place and local customs.

Moving to India, this is a country with a great variety of dishes. Indians, use spices like turmeric, cardamom, and cumin to make their famous foods like curries and rice dishes. Every region of India has its own special dishes. Places like Kerala use a lot of coconut, while Punjab likes filling dishes. People who love food will no doubt enjoy India’s variety.

On to Japan, with it’s traditional Japanese cuisine, world renowned both for its esthetics for presentation  and uses for the most part natural ingredients.   Food, like in so many countries is an essential ingredient of Japanese culture and best shared in a family setting.

Korean cuisine is another Asian country with fascinating dishes that have predominantly bold and fermented flavors.  Barbecue dishes like Bulgogi are mouthwatering with cuts of meat and savory sauces. Another notable famous Korean dish, Bibimbap meaning mixed rice with meat and assorted vegetables. This dish is believed to  be a 1,000 year old and considered one of the most popular dish in Korea.

Europe

In Europe, each country also have their special dishes and within each country a robust variety of regional dishes. Italy is known for its pastas, pizza and a slew of other dishes, where each region offers something unique, from the seafood of Sicily to the meat-heavy dishes of the north. France for their famous dishes, pastries, cheese and much more. Spain for tapas and paella.

Germany for a variety of hearty and flavorful dishes such as Bratwurst and Wiener Schnitzel. Portugal with “Bacalhau à Brás” a cod dish which has 365 different ways of preparation one for each day of the year.

Greece, with it’s rich and diverse cuisine, such as Moussaka, Spanakopita (spinach pie), and Tzatziki (yogurt-cucumber-garlic dip) are beloved around the world.

Dishes from Belgium which interestingly enough have some of the best dishes in Europe, although completely underrated. Moules frites (Steamed mussels and fries) is Belgium’s national dish. The best waffles in the world, incredible desserts and pastries.

Africa

Africa has many tasty foods that people sometimes forget about.

Morocco has dishes like Tagines made with lamb and nuts along with Fish chermoula, made with a variety of herbs and spices to marinate before grilling on charcoal.   Mozambique has spicy chicken called peri-peri. Ethiopia has a special bread called injera that goes well with their spicy soups.

The Americas

Latin American cuisine is a thrilling mix of indigenous, European, and African influences.

Moving south, Argentina and Brazil are famous for their barbecue traditions, with meats grilled using a variety of techniques and serving methods.

In North America, Mexican food, with its tacos, enchiladas, and guacamoles, is adored worldwide. The USA, is a melting pot of global culinary traditions. Mostly renowned for fast food, there’s much more than meets the eye. From Creole to Tex-Mex, American cuisine is a tribute to the country’s diverse heritage.

Oceania

Oceania, especially Australia and New Zealand, use really fresh ingredients. Better known for their seafood, lamb, and a special dessert called pavlova. They like to keep their food flavors simple and clean.

There are certain dishes and cuisines that are widely popular and enjoyed by people around the world Here are some examples of foods that are often considered among the best are:
